The holistic practice of law is about treating the client as a whole person. But it also is about the lawyer bringing his or her whole self to the work with the client. The whole lawyer, or the holistic lawyer, is present, focused, sharp, compassionate, willing, understanding, assertive, strong, and ready to guide the client through a confusing and complex experience with the legal system. By providing holistic legal services, the lawyer can bring the client to a better understanding of his/her own situation and also provide some perspective to ground the client as she/he moves through the legal system.
